The “I got mine crowd” has been very busy lately.  Once again they have blocked new judges for the federal circuit court in the Washington D.C. area. It does not matter that the area is undermanned and over loaded with work.  They are woman or minority  candidates that may favor some things the, “I got mine crowd”, can’t tolerate.  Whatever it takes to keep our President from getting things done and whatever it takes to block progressive ideals.  So far the GOP has watched our country and World step back from a financial precipice that happened on their watch.  It happened when the Bush administration and cronies pushed through deregulation on Wall Street and the financial markets. This opened our country and the World markets to unprecedented violation of standard principals of business. This is what was handed the Obama administration in 2008.  The Bush bungle buddies are just being punished for their lying, cheating, and stealing. HSBC, Britain’s largest bank has had to pony up billions in fines.  Bank of America and JP Morgan Chase have had to pay billions in fines also.

Since 2008, the Obama administration has been able to bring the unemployment down from 10 to 7 1/2 %.  Our deficit is 38% less than last year.  Our dependency on foreign oil is waning, to the point we may be self sufficient by 2016.  Our economy is strong, the stock market is at record levels,  our corporations our loaded with cash, and want to hire and invest, but the uncertainty of our politics is frightening.  There was a time that the parties could compromise and work for the good of the country.  There was a time when shutdown and default were words mentioned in developing and 3rd world countries.  Today, the right wing extremists are on parade every day obstructing anything that has to do with our President.  Whether it’s good for our country has no bearing. They got theirs and that’s all that matters, their own little world.

The same demigods, or their ilk, were present to try to stop Emancipation of Slavery, Woman’s Suffrage, and the Civil Rights Act. Thirty million people are without health insurance, yet the obstructionists say it won’t work, it’s too expensive, and my insurance buddies don’t like it.  “I have to stop this so I don’t lose my campaign contributions.” Most of the 36 states that have relegated themselves to “Healthcare.gov” are red states, where most of the uninsured and GOP live.  Yes, Texas has low unemployment due to low paying jobs, but it also has the most uninsured of any state.

States that have their own web site dovetailing to insurance companies are signing people up by the thousands.  They are Kentucky, New York, Washington, and Minnesota to name a few.  It should be interesting to see the results of the 2016 elections when the public realizes that their congressmen is a right wing obstructionist that does nothing for his constituents and nothing for his country.  The “I Got Mine Party”.
