REAGAN REPUBLICANS: WHERE ARE THEY?
There was a time when Congress functioned. There was a time that men would meet, discuss the issue, complain and suggest, and after a reasonable time, compromise, so the people and country could benefit from discussions and decisions by wise and learned men. There was a time when senators such as Tip O’Neil (D) and John McCain (R) would always reach across the aisle, and compromise so that something got done.
Today is grab the money and vote with the NRA, Corporations, and wealthy contributors. Stay in power at all costs and damn the voters that put them in. How long can these criminals bamboozle the public?
The issues are huge. The income disparity is getting worse. Housing is at a premium or untouchable in California. The medium price of a house in California is $700,000. The wealthy have the country by the throat. Nothing for the little guy amongst the rich and greedy.
While the Congress dawdles, the World is burning up, the cost of basic necessities has gone beyond most of the World’s poor. Supply chains are broken, and the economy is sinking. I pity the young that will be facing these problems to solve while the elders steal their future for short term personal gain. The GOP will go down in history as the destroyers. Democrats are accused as Spendthrifts. The benefits usually go to the citizens. When in power, the GOP create tax benefits for the wealthy and corporations, while gutting regulations that protect the citizens and the country. We need a reset and a commitment to negotiate in good faith. Our lives and our country are desperately in need of this. JC
